Japanesque Ceiling Light

Ceiling Light

This is a Japanesque ceiling light without any electronics. It will able to be built very easy. The previous ceiling light used in my room was made of plastic and it looks cheap. I had thought that replace it with a new one made of natural materials. However shch high grade ceiling lights are very expensive and I determined to build it my self.

Right image shows the built ceiling light. Four wood frame lampshades like andon are joined orthogonaly. The lampshade that is wood frame with Japanese paper creates soft light. The light source is four 60 watts bulbs and it is equivalent to 240 watts that is sufficient for my room. But the power comsumption is not good considering energy-saving. I used 12 watts fluorecent lamps equivalent to 60 watts bulb instead.
